Everyone needs a simple but really knock your socks off appetizer they can pull out of their pocket for a last minute gathering, or for a holiday party where you don’t want to spend the entire night trapped in the kitchen preparing the food.
These toast points are your answer to that appetizer question mark!
Using the Calphalon Precision Control™ Countertop Oven you can toast, broil and perfect these Toast Points with Goat Cheese, Prosciutto and Honey in no time at all. The quarts heating technology delivers 30% more heat for even cooking and really really fast preheating. Plus, the extra large size makes it great for large amounts of food, so you can do more in less time.
I really love the easy to understand and contemporary look of the panel. The digital readout makes the settings really easy to understand, and the many different settings mean you can make pretty much anything in this countertop oven that you would make in a standard oven. Plus the extra deep measurements mean you can make a 12″ pizza in this thing!
You are only a few simple steps away from this awesome holiday appetizer.
- Cut your bread of choice into triangles, or whatever shape you like. Triangles are the traditional shape of a “toast point”, though.
- Toast your bread.
- Spread goat cheese on your toasted bread.
- Broil the goat cheese until it’s nice and melty.
- Top with Prosciutto Di Parma and drizzle with honey.
That’s it! And let me tell you, they are really really good. My husband and I had these for lunch after I finished up with this post. Delish.
This toast point recipe is really just a jumping off point for endless flavor combos!
You could do a Caprese toast point with broiled mozzarella and top it with a slice of tomato and a basil leaf, and drizzle with some balsamic glaze.
Or broil a slice of cheddar and then top with crumbled bacon and a dollop of fig jam.
Or Swiss cheese, ham and honey mustard!
Or cream cheese, strawberries and chocolate chips!
Or garlic cashew cheese, a dollop of date puree and chives!
Seriously, you guys, there are so many ways to turn toast points into an easy and amazing appetizer that your guests will gobble up.
Which one of the combos above are you going to make??
